A short 5-minute drive to beautiful Lake Moogerah for boating, fishing, sailing, skiing or a pleasant picnic on the grassy banks.

Nearby Aratula (gateway to Cunningham’s Gap) is quite a hub on the weekends, with coffee shop, country bakery, restaurant, antiques, fresh produce, giftware and souvenirs available. Or take the opposite direction drive the short distance to Kalbar, Boonah or Mt Alford to dine at the country pubs, or various coffee shops and restaurants, and visit local art galleries.

Visit the lavender & rose farms, local wineries, or, if bush walking is your passion, explore the Peaks of the Scenic Rim - the National Parks of Mt Greville and Mt Edwards, are all at your doorstep.

DIRECTIONS VIA THE CUNNINGHAM HIGHWAY

• Leave Brisbane heading for Ipswich. The road is known as the Western Freeway later the Centenary Highway, then the Ipswich Motorway.
• Proceed on the Ipswich Motorway until you reach anoverhead sign for Toowoomba and Warwick. DO NOT TAKE THE 1st EXIT TO TOOWOOMBA - take the NEXT EXIT TO WARWICK. This is all on a motorway standard road. You are now on the Cunningham Highway.
• Continue on this road for approximately 40 minutes to Aratula.
• Move to the left lane after the township of Aratula at the 2nd service station, and turn left (just before the Aratula Hotel).
• Continue along this road (Charlwood Road) until you come to a T-junction, turn right and proceed along Lake Moogerah Road until you come to a T-junction with a sign that says "Mt Edwards" - take this turn right.
• Proceed approximately 1.8 klms to millys@moogerah, first house on the left-hand side of the road, at the roadside arrow indicators.

MOOGERAH PEAKS NATIONAL PARK:

The Scenic Rim is a bushwalker’s paradise. There are Mt Moon, Mt Greville, Mt Edwards and Mt French. A rough 4 hr return walk through palm gorges leads to the Summit of Mt Greville and rewards you with spectacular views across Lake Moogerah and the Fassifern Valley. Mt Edwards track starts by crossing the Moogerah Dam wall and along a rough trail to the Gorge Lookout.

FISHING:

Lake Moogerah has been widely written about for its trophy sized Bass, Golden Perch and Mary River cod. This dam is easily fished from a boat or the shore produces trophy fish of all species. Recommended baits for these lakes are worms, live shrimps, crayfish, grubs or meat. As far as lures go, Jackall lures will catch you most species. Spinnerbaits, soft plastics, surface lures and bibbed minnows all work at times.

HISTORICAL VILLAGE:

Situated on the road from Boonah to Aratula, before the turnoff onto Lake Moogerah Road is a piece of old Queensland. Templin is a complete early settler’s village featuring an interesting collection of relics and records from yesteryear. There are 100’s of artifacts, memorabilia, photographs and newspapers to be viewed. Open 9.30 - 1.30 Sun. Ph: 5463 1970.
